Holiday Timeline

I know, I know, I’m jumping all over the place with my Holiday posts! I posted about Christmas yesterday and Thanksgiving today and Halloween is next week! Just bare with me.  I wanted to break down my holiday season timeline for you because for me, Christmas season started yesterday!  Here’s the timeline I tend to follow:

October 25: Christmas Family photos (two months before Christmas day!)

October 29: Buy Halloween Candy and finalize outfits.  If I buy the candy any sooner we just end up eating it all.

October 31: Halloween

October 31(around 9 pm): Go through all the kids candy and squirrel enough away for Easter, potty training, and birthday goody bags.

November 5: Finalize family photos and order Christmas cards (I’m already shopping for ideas).

November 10: Make a Christmas budget.

November 12: Get Christmas lists together and scroll through all the Black Friday deals along with Cyber Monday deals.

November 15: Do a deep clean of the house.

November 20: Buy all the items for Thanksgiving dinner.

November 22: Thanksgiving.  I’m not hosting this year so feeling a huge relief.

November 23: Black Friday (I do not go out and shop but take advantage of online deals, Pottery Barn Kids always does a great job!)

November 23: Decorate the House with all the Christmas things!

November 24: Shop Small Saturday! I’ll be selling Belle Bélier at the South Charlotte Small Business Saturday so come out and support us and all the other local Charlotte businesses.

November 25: Somehow convince the husband to buy a Christmas tree this early.

November 28: Buy advent calendar and set up wooden advent calendar.

November 30: Send out Christmas cards.

December 1: Make hot coco and write Santa a letter.

December 2: Go ice skating.

December 3: Buy and send Christmas gifts that need to be shipped to family members.

December 6: Picture with Santa Clause at Bass Pro Shop! It’s free and seriously the BEST Santa! ALWAYS.

December 7: Bake with the kids!

December 9: Make donations to shelter, churches, and schools (not just items but time).

December 10: Around this time Old Navy runs a pajamas promotion so get those cute family pjs to rock on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.

After December 10 it’s whatever life throws our way.  This is all I can prepare for and then really just be able to sit back and enjoy the holidays.  Of course, I like writing everything out so all of this marked on all three of my calendars (and my iphone calendar). I picked out a few organizers to help you this holiday season!  And let me know what all I’m forgetting, because mom brain.
