I’m hopping on the spice jar organization train, but with an Emily Fee twist. I’m showing you how to organize and make your own spice jar labels. And for my friends that don’t want to do all the work, I have them available in my store for quick and easy purchase.
When I open my spice cabinet it makes me dizzy. Some spice jars are short, some are tall, some are fat, others are skinny, some glass, some plastic, and so on and so on. Not to mention the labels were also very different, which made looking for the onion powder a little difficult. And from a marketing perspective, I get it, they’re trying to stand out in a grocery store so branding needs to be different from the next brand. But as a mom who likes to keep things organized while keeping my home “pretty”, it’s not so ok to have 20 different shaped and sized spice jars in one cabinet. So when I started to see other bloggers post pretty organized spice jars at the same time I saw a wife post about her husband relabeling the spices with some very punny labels, I got to work.

Jars
I purchased these jars from Amazon and I am in love!! I gave them a five-star rating because I was pleasantly surprised by their packaging and quality. They came three days after purchasing (side note I do not have amazon prime, I know crazy right) and I got right to work.
Canva
You guys know I love using Canva for any digital marketing or project. So I started working on the design and text of the labels. I always choose a blank resume template and work my way from there. So let’s get started:
Under elements, select a grey square and scale it to be 2 x 2 inches. Add three across and three down to match your label template (which I’ll get to next).
Then you can start playing with fonts! I kept the font clean and simple because I want the readability to match the design of the jars, clean and simple. The best part of making your own labels is that you can find a font that you love and don’t stop at spice jars, I even started labeling our craft items! Endless organization options here mamas!
If that’s too much work go ahead and purchase my ready-made labels here: https://emilyfee.com/shop/
Labels
I purchased these 2 x 2-inch labels because Avery is such a great program. You can purchase their products, add your own design, and print from home OR they can print everything for you! For this project, you’re going to have to upload a screenshot of each label. Stay with me here, or just head to my shop to purchase. You’re going to open a new canvas template, this time open a tag template. You’re going to go one by one and copy and paste then screenshot and paste on each label spot on the Avery template. It takes a few times to get used to doing, but once you’ve got it down you’re golden! I walk you through the steps on my IG stories but you can always message me if you have any questions.
Add the labels to your printer, print, and then stick the labels to your jars and taadaaa!! You’re ready to organize your spices!
