Buffalo Bills might not be on everyone’s screen this Super Bowl Sunday (we were so close) BUT I can guarantee Buffalo wings, buffalo dip, and these buffalo chicken tacos will be! All thanks to Flashfood and Tops Market!
Flashfood Inc is my favorite app! If you’ve been following along on my stories you know that I love to cook, but what I love more is saving money and the planet. Flashfood app does all that and more!
Flashfood
Flashfood is an user friendly app that allows you to shop meats, fresh produce, bakery items, dairy and non perishable items that are close to their expiration dates at up to 50% off! Thus saving perfectly good food from going to the landfill and leaving you extra money for other necessities. I can tell you from first hand experience that this app has saved me $100s in groceries over the past month. I even purchase from this app before I meal prep!
How it works
After you download the app, it will show you all the participating grocery stores near you. If you’re in WNY like us, you’ll be happy to know every TOPS Market has a Flashfood! Select the closest or your favorite TOPS and then search throw the items for purchase. Select the items you want to buy, then purchase those items through the app and they’ll be ready for you to pick up in a flash!

As long as you know which items you can freeze, you can stock up for big occasions like the Super Bowl and save on groceries! My favorite Super Bowl Sunday recipe is Buffalo Chicken Tacos! I take everything that you love about Buffalo wings and put it into a delicious savory taco.
BUFFALO CHICKEN
- 3 chicken breasts
- 2 cups of Frank’s Frank’s Hot Sauce
- 1 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and Pepper
TACOS
Toppings
- 1 cup lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup carrots
- 4 sticks sticks celery, chopped
- 1 avocado, chopped
- 1 squeeze of lime juice
- 3 tablespoons Blue cheese crumbles
Ranch
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup packed cilantro leaves and stems
- 2 teaspoons parsley
- 1 teaspoon green onion
- 1/2 teaspoons fresh dill
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup of Buttermilk (or regular milk)
STEPS
- Put all the Buffalo Chicken ingredients in a slow cooker for 6 hours and shred after 3 hours. You’ll want to reserve the sauce to serve on the side if people want to add more.
- Blue Cheese Cilantro Ranch: While your chicken is in the slow cooker, add all of the dressing ingredients (except the blue cheese) to your blender and chop then liquefy until smooth. Chill for at least an hour.
- Toppings Add all of the toppings to a large bowl except avocados and blue cheese and mix until evenly combined. Add avocados and blue cheese and gently toss.
- To assemble, top with desired amount of Buffalo Chicken, topping mixture and drizzle with Ranch. Garnish with additional blue cheese and lime if you want!
- The best way to serve soft tacos are with clothesline clips! They make the tacos easy to grab and eat! Colette painted them to look like footballs but you could also paint them your favorite team’s colors. Here is a link for the one’s we bought.
