We’re headed to one of my favorite cities this week for a little workcation, Boston! Boston is filled with rich history, beautiful architecture, and of course the FOOD! Since Spring is in full bloom in New England, you have to prepare for every kind of weather. Chilly mornings, chances of showers, and warmer evenings. Below you can see everything we packed for our trip to Boston.
Layers
Boston weather can be unpredictable so I like to pack light layers. The mornings can have quite a chill in the spring months and tends to get to the mid 60s by the afternoon. So think light coat with a few layering pieces underneath, like my picks below.
Rain gear
It rains in Boston all four seasons of the year, so it’s important to be prepared for rain. The kids each bring their rain coats as well as their own umbrella.
Preppy attire
I love dressing for the city I’m visiting, and since Boston has that old time New England Charm, I like to throw in a few pieces that reflect the history. Below are a few preppy pieces that I love and are currently on sale.
High Tea
I thought it would be so fun to teach the kids the history behind the Boston Tea Party and have our very own modern-day (Boston) Tea Party! So we picked our favorite dresses/apparel and will be ready for our tea and tiny sandwiches.
Shoes
Boston is filled with beautiful roads that have cobblestones and brick sidewalks but they’re ankle-breakers so make sure to pack flat comfortable shoes. I always pack sturdy, waterproof shoes or rain boots with heavy soles to help insulate our feet from the cold and sometimes rainy pavement. We do LOTS of walking in Boston so cute yet comfortable sneakers are always my go to for Boston trips.
Accessories
Along with sunscreen and sunglasses make sure to pack a hat and other accessories for those sunny afternoon picnics or walks in the park. And this kids camera that Colette is using to create a project to show her classmates all about our vacation in Boston!
Bags
I have a bag for every bag to keep things organized and easily accessible, which is very important when traveling with kids. Below are my favorite bags that I always travel with.
